NORTH STAR ADVANTAGE DISK ARCHIVE
With Thanks to the various Keepers of the 'Obsolete Software' Flame from whom these collections were gathered, especially Dave, Jon, Simon and Holger.
NOTE: Some of the disks listed here are not specifically for the North Star Advantage computer,
however the disks listed below here have system boot tracks for the Advantage installed, even if the rest of the software is non-specific.
HELP PLEASE: Does anybody have a valid copy of GDOS/GHDOS/GHBASIC Revision 2.1.0?
Included below is a boot disk called "GDOS-210-SHORT". At first glance, this
looks like it was originally a "DOSGBASIC_210" floppy. But, unfortunately, this
floppy can only run floppy 'GBASIC', as there is no longer a 'GHDOS' or a
'GHBASIC' file existing on this disk, and so cannot access a hard disk at
all.
Revision 2.1.0 of GHDOS is necessary to be able to access hard drives that are designated as Revision 2.0. (almost all the drives that were classed as 'standard' under North Star Operating Systems.) The
'DOSGBASIC 200' available below is Revision 2.0.0. and is only capable of accessing North Star hard drives that are designated as Revision 1.0 (so only the SG5A 5-megabyte drive).
